After shifting to Jabalpur and long rest, we again decided to pack our bag and go to Amarkantak. It is around 230 Km from Jabalpur. We started around 9 am from my home and reached Amarkantak around 12:30 noon. We took the following route
Jabalpur ( Adhartal) – > Ranjhi – > Kundam – > Dindori -> Shahpura – > Amarkantak
Considering the road condition in MP, this route was extremely good. Rarely we find any pathhole till Amarkantak. Till Dindori route are straight, from there you need to take left turn for Amarkantak. Once you reach Kabir chabutra junction ( 5 km from Amarkantak), you need take again left for Amarkantak.
We took a 10 min tea break in Kabir chabutra Junction , Harshita was happy to get her favorite snacks. Again we started and reached Amarkantak.. believe me my first expression was “Amazing .. wow what a beautiful place .. how come I not visited before.. ”
After reaching to Amarkantak, our first hurdle was to find a place for stay … I heard , MP Tourism hotel is the only good accommodation, which is true but we didn’t get booking on that. Based on my internet research, I also found the details of “RamKrishna Ashram” which allow people to stay. It is located on start of Amarkantak, and luckily we got two beautiful room over there. This place very quite and beautiful, When my mom and wife say awesome, I feel pride on my decision. They charged me 800 INR for one room, which is quite cheaper compare to MPT hotel ( 2500 INR) .. If you are planning to come with family or group, this is a best place to stay .. the only disadvantage, they wont provide you food, for that you need to go nearby place.. and its Ashram yaar not an hotel . It has a good and well maintained garden, following below some snaps from there ..
After taking some rest, we went directly to NarmadaKund ( place of origin of Narmada River). It is well maintained and comparatively less crowded in day time. Now days, no deepdan, prasad allow to drop in Kund. You can only Achman ( drink) the Water. Which seems to be good decision. On same premises, we found sonakshi shaktipeeth temple , yes it is Shaktipeeth, and we came to know this on same day. We spent around 3 hour in this temple ..
